BOSTON – Vermont continues to lead the way among men’s #AEHoops teams as the Catamounts were ranked in the top 150 of the first NCAA NET rankings released Monday. UVM picked up a win vs. Princeton last week.
Need to Know
- Vermont beat Princeton on Wednesday in its third game of the ESPN Events Invitational. Gus Yalden scored a career-high 27 points in the win and earned America East Player of the Week honors as a result.
- The Catamounts went toe-to-toe with quality opponents Liberty and Rhode Island in their first two games of the event, falling by five points in each contest.
- UMass Lowell went 2-0 last week beating Stonehill and Emerson. The River Hawks were led by Austin Green’s 14 points in a 75-64 victory over the Skyhawks on Wednesday.
- DJ Armstrong and Dayton Dickerson each scored 12 points to lead a balanced UMBC attack in the Retrievers’ 71-57 win over Delaware State on Saturday. Five Retrievers scored in twin figures and they held DSU to just 29 percent shooting.
- UAlbany's Okechukwu Okeke leads the nation in field goal percentage (.758).
- Fifteen more games take pace this weekend.
- The men’s preseason poll and All-Conference team was announced on Oct. 20

- Averaged 18.5 points and 4.3 rebounds across four games.
- Had a career-best 27 points in Vermont’s win over Princeton on Wednesday.
- This is Yalden’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Ty Tabales, Bryant – Fr., Guard, Worcester, Mass.
- Averaged 12.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair of games.
- Had 15 points, six assists and four steals vs. Harvard on Saturday.
- This is Tabales’ first #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
