BOSTON – With only two weeks left in the regular season, UMBC posts an undefeated week and takes over the number one spot in the #AEVB standings.
Need to Know
- UMBC took down Coppin State in a thrilling five-set victory. Led by Laura Fuehrer’s 19 kills, the Retrievers snapped Coppin States 10-match winning streak. On Sunday, UMBC took down Bryant in four sets. Hannah Dobbs had 16 kills on .368 hitting with only two errors in the victory as the Retrievers moved to 5-2 in conference play and took the top spot in #AEVB standings.
- Binghamton went 2-0 in conference play this week. On Friday, they took down UAlbany in a crucial conference match-up. The Bearcats went on to take down NJIT in five-sets on Sunday night.
- Bryant clinched a playoff berth with a win on Friday night. The Bulldogs took down New Hampshire in a 3-1 victory.
- Four conference games take place this weekend. UMBC looks to protect home court against NJIT and New Hampshire while Bryant travels to Binghamton and NJIT hosts UAlbany.

Weekly Award Winners – Nov. 4
Player of the Week
Viktoria Dimitrova, Binghamton – So., Right Side Hitter, Sofia, Bulgaria
- Dimitrova had a career high 21 kills in 3-1 victory over UAlbany and posted 12 digs for her third double-double of the season.
- Becomes the first Bearcat to post back-to-back 20+ kill games since December 2024.
- This is Dimitrova’s first #AEVB Player of the Week honor of the season.
Setter of the Week
Regan Kadel, Binghamton – So., Setter, Parker, Colo.
- Had 52 assists in 3-1 victory over UAlbany. Followed it up with a new career high of 60 assists in 3-2 victory over NJIT.
- Kadel becomes the first Binghamton player to record 60 assists in a game since 2022.
- This is Kadel’s first #AEVB Setter of the Week honor of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Hannah Howard, UMBC – Jr., Libero, Inwood, West Va.
- Had 22 digs and three assists in only four sets in the win at Bryant.
- Anchored the Retrievers defense that held opponents to .171 hitting combined in both matches and went 48/48 in serve receive for the week.
- This is Howard’s sixth #AEVB Defensive Specialist of the Week honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Maya Coblentz-Brown, Binghamton – Fr., Right side Hitter, Irvine, California
- Totaled 29 kills while averaging 3.22 kills per set. Had a .381 hitting percentage in a 2-0 week for Binghamton.
- This is Coblentz-Brown’s fourth #AEVB Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
