#AEWSOC Week 8: Five Teams Post Unbeaten Weeks as Slate Nears Midway Mark

BOSTON – Nearly halfway through the America East women’s soccer schedule, Binghamton sits atop the league standings with 10 points after posting a 1-0-1 week. Vermont won its lone game and sits in second place with seven points while was also unbeaten and has five, good for third place.   

All nine teams will play eight league games, facing every other conference opponent once with teams receiving three points for a win, one for a tie and zero for a loss. The top six teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify for the 2025 America East Women’s Soccer Championship.

  • Binghamton extended its unbeaten streak to nine games (6-0-3) with a tie vs. NJIT and a win over Maine last week.
  • The Bearcats sit at No. 77 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings, the highest ranking in the conference.
  • Binghamton's win on Sunday snapped Maine's 16-game unbeaten streak vs. league foes which dated back to 2023. 
  • Vermont improved to 2-0-1 and stayed unbeaten in league play with a 2-0 victory at UMBC on Sunday. 
  • Bryant beat UAlbany on Sunday, 3-0, after tying Maine, 1-1, on Thursday to go 1-0-1 on the week.
  • NJIT also went unblemished tying both of its contests. 
  • UNH also didn't lose last week, beating UMass Lowell, 1-0, on Thursday and tying NJIT, 2-2, on Sunday. 
  • Four more conference games take place this week.
  • Binghamton's Jahkaya Davis and NJIT's Briana Andreoli are tied for the league lead with seven goals apiece.

Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 6
Offensive Player of the Week
Briana Andreoli, NJIT – Sr., Forward, Hawthorne, N.J.
  • Scored a goal in each of NJIT’s games last week.
  • Tallied the tying goal in the 88th minute vs. UNH on Sunday to preserve a tie for the Highlanders.
  • This is Andreoli’s third #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season and fourth of her career.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kylee Carafoli, Vermont – Sr., Goalkeeper, Plymouth, Mass.
  • Made two saves in a 2-0 win over UMBC on Sunday.  
  • The shutout is her fourth of the season.
  • This is Carafoli’s second #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season and third of her career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Abby Beasley, New Hampshire – Fr., Defender, Fishers, Ind.
  • Scored the game-winning goal vs. UMass Lowell on Thursday.
  • This is Beasley’s first career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week honor.
