#AEWSOC Week 11: Binghamton Claims Regular-Season Crown

BOSTON – Binghamton captured its third America East women’s soccer regular-season title in the last four years over the weekend while UMass Lowell and UNH joined the Bearcats and Vermont in #AEWSOC Championship field. Four teams remain in contention for the final two bids.

Binghamton tied Vermont, 1-1, on Sunday and will finish atop the league standings with 18 points. The Catamounts secured a home tournament game by earning a point and can claim the No. 2 seed with a win or tie in its final regular-season game on Thursday.

UMass Lowell beat UAlbany, 3-1, on Sunday to secure a championship bid while UNH earned its 12th-straight appearance with a 1-1 tie vs. UMBC. NJIT kept its postseason hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over Maine on Saturday. Bryant, Maine, UMBC and NJIT are fighting for the final two bids.

The top six teams in the standings will qualify for the 2025 America East Women’s Soccer Championship, which starts with quarterfinal action on Sunday, November 2. The championship bracket will be released on Thursday evening.

Offensive Player of the Week
Gaby Eckroth, UMass Lowell – So., Forward, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
  • Had a league-best three points last week by notching a goal and an assist in UMass Lowell’s 3-1 win at UAlbany on Sunday.
  • This is Eckroth’s first career #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kalli Williams, UMBC – Gr., Goalkeeper, Port Republic, Md.
  • Stopped six of the seven shots she faced in a key 1-1 tie vs. UNH on Sunday.
  • This is Williams’ first career #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
Nora Belin, UMass Lowell – Fr., Forward, Stockholm, Sweden
  • Scored a goal in UMass Lowell’s key win over UAlbany on Sunday.
  • Recorded three shots and the game-winning goal against Vermont on Sunday
  • This is Belin’s third career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week honor.
