BOSTON – The march towards March begins Saturday for men’s #AEHoops teams. The 72-game conference slate kicks off with four games. All nine programs will play a double round-robin schedule that culminates on March 3.
Every game matters as the top four teams in the standings at the end of the regular season earn home court advantage the Air Force Reserve #AEPlayoffs.
Saturday’s conference openers features a rematch of last year’s America East title game as Maine hosts Bryant. Additionally, UNH hosts Vermont, UAlbany heads to UMass Lowell and NJIT visits Binghamton.
Vermont (8) and UMBC (7) led the way in non-conference victories while UMass Lowell and NJIT each had five. The Catamounts are the league’s top scoring team averaging 77.5 points per game and Maine holds the top scoring defense holding foes to 70.3 points per game. Individually, Vermont’s Gus Yalden leads the league in scoring averaging 17.1 points per game while UAlbany’s Amir Lindsey is second at 16.6 points per contest.
