#AEMSOC Has 13 Named United Soccer Coaches All-Region

BOSTON – Following a record-breaking 2025 #AEMSOC season in which both Bryant and Vermont were ranked in the top-two in the nation, the America East had 13 players named United Soccer Coaches All-Region.
 
The league took home 13 of a possible 22 spots in the United Soccer Coaches Northeast All-Region team, with six on the first team and seven on the second team. Vermont and Bryant each had five honors, while New Hampshire had two and UAlbany claimed one All-Region honoree.
 
The America East claimed 5 of 6 striker positions, and 4 of 6 midfielder positions, while the Catamounts led all schools with four first-team all-region honorees. Vermont’s four first-team selections was tied with Maryland and San Jose State for the most of any school in the nation.
 
Vermont
Niklas Herceg, Nick Lockermann, Ryan Zellefrow and David Ismail were selected to the first team, while freshman Nico Loebus was a second-team honoree. Herceg, Lockermann and Leobus took home America East Goalkeeper, Defender and Rookie of the Year honors, while Zellefrow and Ismail were first-team all-conference selections.
 
Bryant
Midfielder and Striker of the Years, Paco Fernandez and Jaime Amaro both were named to the first-team while Tiago Dias, Abdel Talabi and Mamadi Jiana secured second-team honors for the Bulldogs.
 
New Hampshire
Midfielder Matteo Brossel and forward Elias Kohdri were named to the second-team after helping Wildcats earn the No. 4 Seed in the AEMSOC Championship.
 
UAlbany
Ivar Gissurarson was picked as a second-team forward after leading the Great Danes to the No. 3 Seed in the #AEMSOC Championship.
 
The America East is one of the best men’s soccer conferences in the country and home to 2024 National Champion Vermont. In 2025, both Vermont and Bryant found themselves ranked in the top-three multiple weeks, the first time the league had two teams in the top-three. Overall The conference has received multiple bids to the NCAA tournament in five of the past 10 seasons. Five different teams have reached the third round of the NCAA tournament since 2014.
