Men's Soccer 11/11/2025 12:00:00 PM Vermont & Bryant Win Major Awards as #AEMSOC All-Conference is Announced BOSTON – Following two of the most dominant regular seasons in league history, No. 2 Vermont and No. 6 Bryant combined to capture all six major awards as the 2025 America East Men’s Soccer All-Conference awards were released on Monday afternoon.. The Catamounts took home four major awards, led by Defender of the Year Nick Lockermann and Goalkeeper of the Year Niklas Herceg. Vermont’s Nico Loebus was honored as Rookie of the Year, while Vermont took home Coaching Staff of the Year honors. Bryant’s Jaime Amaro was named the Striker of the Year while Paco Fernandez was recognized as the Midfielder of the Year. The Bulldogs and Catamounts each had eight all-conference selections. The major awards, All-Conference and All-Rookie teams were determined in a vote by the league's head coaches who were not permitted to vote for their own players. The All-Academic team was voted on by a committee of administrators from the conference’s member institutions. 2025 #AEMSOC Major Award Winners Striker of the Year Jaime Amaro, So., Bryant Leads the league in points (27), goals (10) and assists (7) Registered at least one point in seven of last nine games and ranks 16th nationally in points per game (1.50) First Bryant player to be named Striker of the Year Midfielder of the Year Paco Fernandez, Jr., Bryant Ranks fifth in the league with six goals and 8th in points (14) Helped Bryant third in team GAA (0.44) and 6th in goal differential (+29) First Bryant player to honored as Midfielder of the Year Defender of the Year Nick Lockermann, Jr., Vermont Has two goals and two assists while starting all 17 games on defense Anchored a defense which allowed just two goals in conference play and only allowed more than one goal in two total games this season. Second straight Catamount to win the award after Zach Barrett last season. Goalkeeper of the Year Niklas Herceg, So., Vermont Ranks 11th nationally with a 0647 GAA and is 6th nationally with nine shutouts. Allowed just two goals in seven conference games with five shutouts and a .913 save percentage. All numbers led the conference Fourth Catamount to secure Goalkeeper of the Year honors Rookie of the Year Nico Loebus, Fr., Vermont Tied for third in the league with five assists while starting all 17 games in the midfield. Part of a team which allowed just two goals in conference play. Third Catamount in the last six years to earn Rookie of the Year honors. Coaching Staff of the Year Vermont Won outright regular season title for the first time since 2017 Enter #AEMSOC Semifinals on a 27-match unbeaten streak, the longest active streak in the nation. Allowed just two goals in conference play, tied for the lowest mark in league history. Head Coach Rob Dow is assisted by Brad Cole, Rory Twomey, Owen Jack and Eric Bissell. Vermont and Bryant led the way with eight all-conference selections apiece. The Catamounts had five on the first team and three on the second, while Bryant had three on the first team and five on the second team. Vermont and New Hampshire each had three players named to the All-Rookie team, while UAlbany had a pair. NJIT, Vermont and Bryant each had two players earn All-Academic honors.
