Swimming & Diving 10/14/2025 3:00:00 PM #AESD Week 2: Four Teams Earn Victories BOSTON – Five teams took to the pool this past weekend, with four #AESD programs securing victories. NJIT won the NJIT Invite, outlasting Howard, Villanova and Saint Peter's in the two-day event. VMI took down Mount St. Mary's while UMBC split a tri-meet with William & Mary and Navy. Binghamton beat Niagara while Bryant lost a tough meet to Fairfield. This coming weekend Binghamton competes at Bryant over two days of action, while New Hampshire opens its season at Vermont. NJIT is as is Maine. 2025-26 #AESD Women’s Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 14 Female Swimmer of the Week Ruby Tonelli-Smith, Bryant – So., Sydney, Australia Won all three events in which she competed, taking first in the 100 meter fly (1:02.12), 200 meter fly (2:19.42) and the 200 meter IM (2:22.35) this past weekend. When converted to yards, both fly times are the best in the conference and the IM time is second. This Tonelli-Smith’s first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor of the season. Female Diver of the Week Lizzie Tirado, Binghamton – Sr., White Plains, N.Y Swept both diving events against Niagara, winning the one-meter with a league-best score of 271.95 and in the three-meter finished with a score of 255.90. Her 271.95 is an NCAA Zone mark, the second time she has hit that this year. This is Tirado’s second #AESD Diver of the Week honor. Female Rookie of the Week Julia Iwanow, Binghamton – Fr., Portland, Ore. Won the 200 breaststroke (2:18.96) and the 200 IM (2:10.06) in the Bearcats meet on Saturday. Also took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.28). Iwanow’s 100 and 200 breaststroke times are ranked first in the conference while her 200 IM time is third. This is Iwanow’s second #AESD Rookie of the Week honor. 2025-26 #AESD Men’s Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 13 Male Swimmer of the Week Mohamed Walid, NJIT – Fr., Alexandria, Egypt Won the 200 fly in a time of 1:50.32, a CSCAA B cut and the top time in the America East by three seconds. Won the 100 fly in 49:36 and took third in the 50 free with a time of 21.48, in times that rank third and fifth in the league. Also part of 400 medley relay (3:23.31) and 400 free relay (304.64) that are both the fastest in the league. This is Walid’s first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor. Male Diver of the Week Dylan Norby, Binghamton – Jr., Memomonei, Wisc. Won the men's three-meter diving event with a score of 319.50 and finished as the runner up in the one-meter event with a score of 270.90. This is Norby’s second #AESD Diver of the Week honor.
