Swimming & Diving 10/21/2025 3:00:00 PM #AESD Week 3: Seven Teams Compete Over the Weekend BOSTON – Seven of eight swim programs took to the pool this past weekend, highlighted by a pair of meets between conference opponents as every team has now had at least one meet. This coming weekend Bryant begins its season while Binghamton, NJIT and UMBC host their first meets of the year. VMI is also in action at Mount St. Mary’s. 2025-26 #AESD Women’s Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 20 Female Swimmer of the Week Amanda Witkus, Bryant – Jr., Uxbridge, Mass. Won a pair of events this past weekend, beating Binghamton in the 200 fly (2:00.43) and 400 IM (4:26.36), while placing second in the 100 fly. Her 200 fly time is one of the top-10 among Division I mid-major swimmers this season and her 400 IM is 21st. Both are tops in the league as well. This is Witkus’ first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor of the season. Female Diver of the Week Grace Blume, New Hampshire – Jr., Dedham, Mass. Swept both diving events in her first meet of the season, with a 264.53 in the three-meter event and a 254.33 score in the 1-meter event. Blume’s score in the three-meter is the second-highest in the league this season. This is Blume’s first #AESD Diver of the Week honor of the season. Female Rookie of the Week Julia Iwanow, Binghamton – Fr., Portland, Ore. Earned a breaststroke sweep against Bryant with her 100 breast (1:03.27) and 200 breast (2:15.89) events this past weekend. Iwanow’s 100 and 200 breaststroke times are first in the conference, and her 200 breast is three seconds faster than anyone else in the league. This is Iwanow’s third straight #AESD Rookie of the Week honor. 2025-26 #AESD Men’s Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 20 Male Swimmer of the Week Evan Peters, Binghamton – So., Rush, N.Y. Secured four victories this past weekend, winning the 200 free in 1:38.97, 500 free (4:36.96), 1,000 free (9:34.96) as well as the 400 IM (4:00.11). Peters’ times in the 200 free, 500 free, and 400 IM are the top in the league this season. This is Peters’ first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor this season. Male Diver of the Week Christopher Buonocore, Bryant – Sr., Long Beach, N.Y. Won the men's three-meter diving event of 299.93 and took third in the 1-meter with a scored 276.75. This is Buonocore’s first #AESD Diver of the Week honor this season. Male Rookie of the Week Arthur Newton, Bryant – Fr., Sugar Land, Texas Won the 100 free in a time of 46.04, the second-best time in the league the season. Part of 200 free relay which set a new pool record its time of 1:23.32 is the second fastest in the league this season.
