UAlbany Clinches Second Straight #AEWLAX Championship!

BURLINGTON, Vt. –  No. 2 UAlbany trailed 5-1 in the second quarter before going on a 7-1 run over a 17-minute span to take the lead. The Great Danes didn’t trail again in taking down top seed Vermont 13-11 for the program’s second straight #AEWLAX Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Vermont jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the game’s opening 18 minutes, but the Great Danes responded with seven of the next eight goals to grab an 8-6 advantage. The Catamount did tie the contest 8-8, but five consecutive goals from UAlbany put the game out of reach.

She had four goals and three assists for seven points after totaling six points in the semifinals. She also added 11 draws and two ground balls, giving her 154 draws this season which is a conference single-season record.

Joining Cook on the All-Championship Team from UAlbany was Mya Carroll, Grace Cincebox, Jaedyn Frink and Ravan Marsell. Vermont’s Maddie Erskine, Sabine Godwin, Lindsay Lefebvre were recognized, along with Emimine Luznar and Reese Macintosh of UMBC, and Bryant’s Sierra Donis & Riley O’Mara.
