#AEWLAX Week 12: Catamounts, Great Danes and Bulldogs Share Regular-Season Title

BOSTON – The Catamounts, Great Danes, and Bulldogs all finished the season 5–1 to earn a share of the #AEWLAX regular-season title, but it was Vermont that secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming championship.

  • Bryant took an early lead in the first quarter that it did not relinquish en route to a 12–7 win over Binghamton.
  • The Catamounts edged UMass Lowell, 14–12, holding off a late charge from the River Hawks to earn the No. 1 seed in the #AEWLAX Championship.
  • UMBC found the back of the cage nine times in the first quarter, taking down New Hampshire, 16–9, to secure the final spot in the #AEWLAX Championship.

Looking Ahead:

  • The championship kicks off on Friday with semifinal action. No. 1 Vermont battles No. 4 UMBC at 4 p.m., while No. 2 UAlbany faces No. 3 Bryant in the nightcap at 7 p.m. The Catamounts beat the Retrievers, 12–8, earlier this season, while the Great Danes took down the Bulldogs, 9–8.
  • The semifinal winners will go head-to-head for the 2026 conference championship on Sunday at 12 p.m. All games of the 2026 America East Women’s Lacrosse Championship will air on ESPN+.

#AEWLAX Weekly Award Winners – April 27

Offensive Player of the Week
Emily Knapp, UMBC – R-SO., Attack, Abingdon, Md.

  • Poured in five goals for 10 points in the win over New Hampshire.
  • Logged a career-best 10 draw controls and caused a turnover in the victory.
  • This is Knapp's first #AEWLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Defensive Player of the Week
Kaelynn O'Brien, Bryant – Jr., Defense, Lynbrook, N.Y.

  • Caused four turnovers in the win over Binghamton.
  • Collected four ground balls and chipped in with two draw controls.
  • This is O'Brien's sixth #AEWLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Emine Luznar, UMBC – Jr., Goalkeeper, Catonsville, Md.

  • Made 11 saves, posting a .550 save percentage in the win over New Hampshire.
  • Picked up two ground balls in the victory.
  • This is Luznar's third #AEWLAX Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.

Rookie of the Week
Sabrina Boyle, Binghamton – Fr., Attack, Huntington, N.Y.

  • Recorded her second hat trick of the season in the game against Bryant.
  • This is Boyle's second #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
