#AESD Week 8: Teams Wrap up First Semester of Competition

BOSTON – Five #AESD programs wrapped up their first semester of competition, as Bryant, New Hampshire, NJIT, Maine, and UMBC were all in action across New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

At the ECAC Championships, the NJIT Highlander men placed 2nd with 1,599 points. At the Maine State Meet, the Black Bear women finished second with 744.5 points, while the Maine men placed third with 777.5 points, and both the UMBC men and women earned dual-meet wins over Salisbury.

The Vermont Catamounts will be the lone #AESD program competing between now and the new year as they travel to Sarasota, Florida, for the CSCAA Open Water Championships.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Amanda Witkus, Bryant – Jr., Uxbridge, MA
  • Recorded three individual wins:
    • 200 Fly – 1:59.61
    • 100 Fly – 55.15
    • 200 IM – 2:04.44
  •  All three times rank in the top five of the conference this season.
  • This is her second #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor of 2025–26.
 
Female Diver of the Week
Grace Blume, New Hampshire – Jr., Dedham, MA 
  • Swept the 1-meter (266.64) and 3-meter (265.43) diving events in the dual meet at Northeastern.
  • Her wins helped the Wildcats keep pace with the Huskies in a close contest.
  • This is her third #AESD Diver of the Week honor of the season.
 
Female Rookie of the Week
Kelsey Mayers, New Hampshire – Fr., Waxhaw, N.C.
  • Finished second in the 200 back (2:07.72) and fourth in the 100 back (59.87) in a close dual-meet loss to Northeastern.
  • Swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay.
  • This is her first #AESD Rookie of the Week recognition.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Joey Stauss, Maine – So., Hawthorne, N.J.
  • Earned two individual wins, a runner-up finish, and contributed to both mixed and single-gender relays.
  • Posted a 21.60 in the 50 fly.
  • Set a school record in the 200 fly with a 1:48.80.
  • This is his first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor this season.
 
Male Diver of the Week
Anders Logas, UMBC – Sr., Carrollton, Texas
  • Won the 3-meter event with a score of 299.55.
  • Added a third-place finish on the 1-meter (280.05) at the Inaugural Retriever Diving Invite.
  • This is his first #AESD Diver of the Week nod of 2025–26.
 
Male Rookie of the Week
Andrew Cellar, NJIT – Fr., Dublin, OH
  • Captured the ECAC title in the 200 back with a 1:46.10.
  • Added a fourth-place finish in the 400-medley relay (3:19.11).
  • Secured sixth-place in the 100 back 49.46.
  • This is his first #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
