BOSTON – The 2025-26 #AETF season started with all nine programs traveling to compete over the weekend. Athletes found plenty of success as many were able to smash school records and break into the top-25 of the NCAA.
This coming weekend, Maine will host Husson University, while NJIT is heading to the Wagner Shootout and UMass Lowell travels to the Dartmouth Invite on Friday.
2025 #AETF Weekly Award Winners – Dec. 9
Male Field Athlete of the Week
Brennan Delany, Binghamton – Jr., Hornell, N.Y
- Won the hepathlon at the Cornell/Greg Page Relays.
- Broke the school record with a score of 5,614 points & currently ranks fifth in the NCAA.
- This is Delany's first career #AETF Field Athlete of the Week honor
Male Track Athlete of the Week
Jan Wouter Van Den Akker, UMass Lowell – Gr., Groningen, Netherlands
- Ran a personal best in the 5,000 meter at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener with a time of 13:54.77
- Finished in 61st place out of 199 finishers and ranks 3rd in the Northeast.
- This is Akker’s first indoor #AETF Track Athlete of the Week honor
Male Rookie of the Week
Jacob Martin, UMBC – Fr., Brampton, Canada
- Won the 600 meter at the Youree Spence Garcia Invite with a school-record time of 1:19.57.
- Martin anchored the 4x400 gold medal winning relay (3:14.81), which is 17th in the nation.
- This is Martin's first #AETF Rookie of the Week honor.
Female Field Athlete of the Week
Ava Roberts, UMBC – Gr., Elkins Park, Pa
- Won the shot put at the Youree Spence Garcia Invite with a throw of 15.01 meters that ranks 12th in the nation.
- Placed second in the weight throw at 16.58 meters.
- This is Robert's first #AETF weekly honor.
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Adaliz Hunt, UAlbany – Gr., Centereach, N.Y.
- Placed first in the 60 m dash at the Armory Distance Carnival with a time of 7.45.
- Hunts final time places fourth in UAlbany history, second in the northeast, and 23rd in the nation .
- This is Hunt's first #AETF Track Athlete of the Week honor of the year.
Female Rookie of the Week
Enazajah Young, UMBC – Fr., New Market, Md
- Young shattered a 16-year old school record as she won gold in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50.
- Placed fourth in the 60 meter dash at 7.64.
- This is Young's first #AETF Track Athlete of the Week honor.
