Field Hockey 10/7/2025 11:00:00 AM #AEFH Week 6: UAlbany, UMass Lowell & UVM Earn League Wins BOSTON – Conference play opened up on Friday, as UAlbany, UMass Lowell and Vermont all came away with clutch victories. The Great Danes and River Hawks added wins on Sunday make it two straight wins. Need to Know: UAlbany shut out Maine on Friday 2-0 and then blanked Colgate 4-0 on Sunday in a pair of dominant performances. Defending champion Vermont fought back from a 3-1 deficit against New Hampshire to win 4-3 thanks to a Sophia Lefranc goal in the final two minutes. The Catamounts then fell 2-1 in OT to Providence. UMass Lowell edged Bryant 3-1 and then outlasted Dartmouth 4-3 on Sunday, while New Hampshire finished the weekend with a 5-0 win again Stonehill. This weekend UNH hosts Maine, Bryant welcomes UAlbany and Vermont is at UMass Lowell in league play. The #AEFH preseason poll and All-Conference teams were announced on August 6 - link. 2025 #AEFH Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 7 Offensive Player of the Week Sophia Lefranc, Vermont – Sr., Midfield, Munich, Germany Scored four goals in a 1-1 week, including a hat trick against UNH. With her team down 3-1 LeFranc tallied the final three goals of the game, including the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining. This is Lefranc’s first #AEFH Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Defensive Player of the Week Emma Peeters, UAlbany – Gr., Goalkeeper, Wageningen, the Netherlands Earned a pair of victories with zero goals allowed and ten total saves, including one complete-game shutout. Posted a five-save shutout in the team’s conference opener against Maine. This is Peeters’ first #AEFH Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Rookie of the Week Jette Kurz, UAlbany – Fr., Forward, Stuttgart, Germany Scored a pair of goals in 2-0 week for UAlbany. Tallied an insurance goal in her team’s 2-0 win against Maine. This is Kurz's first #AEFH Rookie of the Week honor.
