Men's Soccer 10/27/2025 11:00:00 AM #AEMSOC Week 10: No. 7 Vermont Downs No. 2 Bryant, Moves Into First BOSTON – In a battle of unbeatens on Saturday night, No. 7 Vermont struck first and held off No. 2 Bryant for a 2-1 victory and first place in the #AEMSOC standings with just two games remaining in the regular season. The Bulldogs had their 15-match unbeaten streak snapped while Vermont extended their unbeaten streak to 25 contests and haven’t lost since Oct. 26, 2024. Despite the loss, Bryant is currently ranked 4th in RPI, while the Catamounts are ranked second. The America East is one of three conferences with two teams in the top-10 of RPI. Need to Know: Bryant opened the week with an impressive 0-0 draw at Princeton, who is currently No. 1 in RPI, before falling to UVM 2-1 which dropped their record to 13-1-2. The Bulldogs scored late to pull within one and had multiple chances to tie in the final minutes of regulation. Vermont moved into first place with its 2-1 win over Bryant and host UAlbany this coming Friday, looking to secure a top-two seed with a victory. UAlbany continued its strong season with a 2-0 shutout of Binghamton to move into sole possession of third place with ten total points. A win over the Catamounts this Saturday locks up a playoff spot and increases its chances at a top-two seed. New Hampshire shut out NJIT 4-0 to give the Wildcats seven points and move into a tie with UMass Lowell who fell 2-0 to UMBC at home. UMBC kept its playoff hopes very much alive with its first conference win and host last place Binghamton on Friday looking for three more points. New Hampshire travels to UMass Lowell face off on Friday, and the winner will secure a playoff spot and likely a top-four seed in the conference tournament. Bryant hosts NJIT, looking to lock in a top-two seed with a win, combined with a UAlbany draw or loss. 2025 #AEMSOC Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 27 Offensive Player & Rookie of the Week Philipp Kühn, Vermont – So., Forward, Berlin, Germany Scored both goals in Vermont’s 2-1 victory at No. 2 Bryant on Saturday. Defensive Player of the Week Niklas Herceg, Vermont – So., Goalkeeper, Alsdorf, Germany Made four saves in a 2-1 victory at No. 7 Bryant on Saturday night. Held off a late flurry of Bulldogs attempts to secure the win and help UVM most into first in the #AEMSOC Standings. This is Herceg’s third #AEMSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. In 2024, the Catamounts led the nation in RPI and the America East finish fifth as a conference. It marked the league’s second straight top-six finish in RPI. Overall The conference has received multiple bids to the NCAA tournament in four of the past nine seasons.
