BOSTON – For the first time in league history, Vermont leads all America East schools in the Stuart P. Haskell, Jr., Commissioner's Cup standings after the conclusion of the 2025 fall season, as announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.
Following the completion of the fall season, the Catamounts have 138 points, which is its highest fall total in program history, surpassing the 134 in 2021-22. Vermont won the men’s soccer regular season and tournament championships while earning a regular-season title in field hockey. The Catamounts also reached the #AEFH and #AEWSOC Championship contests.
Bryant is in second place with 115 points, followed by New Hampshire in third with 104. UMass Lowell is fourth with 97 while Binghamton is fifth with 94.

- Vermont was the only school to appear every fall championship game in which it sponsors the sport.
- The Catamounts’ 138 points is their highest in school history, just surpassing the school’s 134 points totaled during the 2021-22 school year.
- Vermont sits in first place after the fall season for the first time in school history. The Catamounts previous best had been third multiple times, most recently in 2024-25 when they had 105 points.
- Seven different schools won a tournament or regular season championship this fall, the third time in the past five years this feat has been accomplished.
- Defending Commissioner Cup champion Bryant sits in second with 115 points, its best-ever fall finish. The Bulldogs’ previous best was sixth in 2023-24 with 93 points.
- New Hampshire, which led after each of the past three fall updates is third with 104 points. The Wildcats were aided by field hockey, which won its first tournament championship since 2013.
- UMass Lowell took fourth with 97 points, the fourth time in the last five seasons the River Hawks have finished in the top four.
- UMass Lowell men’s cross country won its sixth straight conference title, the longest active streak of any fall program and the second longest active championship streak in any sport. UAlbany women’s outdoor track and field has captured 16 consecutive titles.
- Maine women’s soccer won its third straight championship, the longest streak since Boston U women’s soccer claimed five consecutive titles from 2007-2011. The Black Bears also won their first women’s cross country title.

Haskell, Jr. Commissioner's Cup is as follows: In sports where regular-season round robin competition is conducted, the first-place institution in the final standings receives four points times the total number of teams involved in conference play. The second-place institution receives four less points; third place receives eight less points, and so on. Additionally, the America East (tournament) champion receives two points times the total number of teams participating in the championship. The second-place institution receives two less points; third place receives four less points and so on down to the last-place institution which receives two points.
In sports where regular-season round robin competition is not conducted (cross country, track & field, swimming & diving), the first-place institution at the America East championship receives two points times the total number of teams participating in the championship. The second-place institution receives two less points; third place gets four less points and so on down to the last place team which receives two points.
