BOSTON – America East student-athletes once again excelled in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year with 77 percent of them earning academic honor roll status.
Honor Roll recognition is bestowed to student-athletes who obtain a semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 higher during their competition season, while Commissioner's Honor Roll is reserved for student-athletes who earn a 3.5 GPA or greater.
Need to Know
- 77 percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports this year earned Honor Roll recognition for achieving at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2022 fall semester or 2023 spring semesters.
- Of that group, 52 percent of student-athletes and 1,797 in total earned Commissioner’s Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better.
- Overall, 2,694 America East student-athletes earned Academic Honor Roll in 2022-23.
- Binghamton, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont each had over 80% of their student-athletes earn honor roll recognition, led by Maine with 84.0 percent student-athletes earning at least a 3.0. Vermont was second at 82.3 percent, followed by Binghamton (81.9) and New Hampshire (81.0).
- Four schools had over 300 honorees, led by Bryant at 372. Vermont followed with 344 while Binghamton and UMass Lowell each had 322.
- America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA in each of the last 18 years.
