DURHAM, N.H. – For the third time in the last six years and eighth time overall, multiple #AEMSOC teams are headed to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship. Both the league champion Vermont and regular-season champion New Hampshire heard their names called during the selection show on Monday.
Vermont (13-4-2) defeated previously unbeaten New Hampshire (16-1-2), 1-0, in the conference’s championship game on Sunday in front of a record crowd of over 3,400 fans at UNH’s Wildcat Stadium.
Both teams will open the tournament at home. Vermont hosts Villanova in a first-round contest on Thursday at 6 p.m. while UNH earned the #16 overall seed a first-round bye. The Wildcats will welcome the winner of North Carolina and Loyola in a second-round contest on Sunday.

- America East is one of only eight conferences to have multiple teams selected to the tournament field.
- This is the second time in six seasons multiple America East teams earned home games.
- New Hampshire is the third America East team to receive a seed for the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship, all coming since 2013. UMBC was also the #16 seed that year. UAlbany earned the #14 seed in 2016.
- UNH is the 10th #AEMSOC team to reach the second round of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship since 2012 and will attempt to become the fourth to advance to the third round since 2014.
