#AESB Week 13: Binghamton & UAlbany Sweep to Conclude Regular Season

BOSTON – Both Binghamton and UAlbany earned sweeps in the final weekend of the regular season to secure the No. 2 and No. 3 Seeds in the upcoming Northeast Delta Denta #AESB Championship, which begins on Wednesday
 
Binghamton earned an impressive sweep over UMass Lowell, winning 6-2, 2-1 and 9-1 to claim the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. UAlbany, meanwhile, downed Maine 8-5, 1-0 and 11-3 on the road.
 
Binghamton’s Rachel Carey finished off an impressive regular season with a .478 average, the first player to his over .450 in the regular season since 2019. UAlbany freshman Kate Parisi had a pair of doubles this past weekend to tie the #AESB single-season record of 23, set back in 2004.
 
The five teams completing in this year’s Northeast Delta Dental #AESB Championship head to Orono this week with the opening games scheduled for Wednesday. No. 3 UAlbany will battle No. 4 UMass Lowell in the first game of the championship, scheduled for 11 a.m. No. 2 Binghamton faces No. 5 Maine at 1:30 p.m. and top seed Bryant faces the lowest seeded winner from the first two contests at 4:00 p.m. Visit Championship Central for the full schedule.

Player of the Week
Emma Lawson, Binghamton – Sr., 1B/Catcher, Monroe, N.Y
  • Hit .875 and reached back in 8 of 9 plate appearances on the week while slugging 2.000
  • Finished with seven RBI, four runs and three home runs in the sweep of UMass Lowell.
  • This is Lawson’s second #AESB Player of the Week honor of the year.
 
Pitcher of the Week 
Olivia Kennedy, Binghamton – Sr., Pitcher, Greene, N.Y
  • Went 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in two appearances against UMass Lowell.
  • Allowed two earned runs in 13.0 innings with seven strikeouts and two walks.
  • This is Kennedy’s first #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor this year.
 
Rookie of the Week 
Katie Parisi, UAlbany – Fr., Outfield, Colonie, N.Y.
  • Hit .545 while slugging 1.000 with a .583 on-base percentage.
  • Finished the weekend with six hits, two runs and eight RBI and two doubles.
  • This is Larkin’s second #AESB Rookie of the Week honor this year.
