Softball 5/2/2026 5:02:09 PM Bryant Claims First Regular Season Championship, No. 1 Seed in Northeast Delta Dental #AESB Championship BOSTON – Bryant didn’t play the final two days of the regular season, but did enough in its final weekend series last week to clinch the program’s first #AESB Regular Season Championship. The Bulldogs will be the No. 1 Seed in the 2026 Northeast Delta Dental America East Softball Championship which begins Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the University of Maine. Bryant finished the regular season with a 16-4 mark and held a winning record against every conference opponent it faced. In league play the Bulldogs ranked second with a .317 averaging and had a conference-beset 3.22 ERA. Defending champion Binghamton earned the No. 2 seed with an impressive sweep of UMass Lowell to conclude the regular season with a 15-5 record. UAlbany swept Maine this weekend to secure the No. 3 Seed with a 13-7 mark, while the River Hawks (11-10) earned the No. 4 Seed and Maine (6-14) is seeded fifth. The four-day, double-elimination championship features all five #AESB programs still playing this season and will be hosted at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex. The Northeast Delta Dental Championship begins on Wednesday with No. 3 UAlbany facing No. 4 UMass Lowell at 11.m. No. 2 Binghamton will then battle No. 5 Maine at 1:30 p.m. No. 1 Bryant concludes the day at 4 p.m. against the lowest seeded winning team from the first two contests. Three more games will be played Thursday, with one scheduled for Friday, while the championship games will be played on Saturday. The league champion will receive an automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Softball Championship.
