#AEBASE Week 7: UMBC Sweeps Series to Move Atop League Standings

BOSTON – Bryant, Maine and UMBC won conference series over the weekend. The Retrievers swept UAlbany and sit atop the conference standings at 5-1. 

This weekend, UAlbany hosts UMass Lowell, Maine entertains Bryant and Bingahmton visits NJIT.

Player of the Week
Casey Wensley, Bryant – Jr., Utility, Raynham, Mass.

  • Slashed .500/.534/.650 in four games last week.
  • Was even better in conference play, hitting 10-for-15 (.667) with a 1.555 OPS in a series win vs. UMass Lowell.
  • Scored eight runs and drove in five.
  • This is Wensley’s third #AEBASE Player of the Week honor of the season.

 
Pitcher of the Week
Alfred Mucciarone, UMass Lowell – Jr., Pitcher, Franklin, Mass.

  • Allowed just one unearned run in a complete-game effort en route to a 10-1 win vs. Maine on Friday.
  • Surrendered just four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
  • This is Mucciarone’s first #AEBASE Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.


Rookie of the Week
Lorenzo Camilleri, NJIT – Fr., First Base, Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.

  • Slashed .636/.733/.1.273 in three games last week.
  • Had two home runs and double while driving in eight runs and scoring five.
  • This is Camilleri first #AEBASE Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
