BOSTON - Five America East women’s lacrosse teams picked up at least one win, and the Retrievers logged two for a perfect week, with under two weeks to go until the start of league play.
The preseason poll was announced on January 14.

Need to Know:
- Niagara scored first against UAlbany, but the Great Danes logged four straight goals to take a lead they would not relinquish in a 14–9 victory.
- UMBC recorded two double-digit point games en route to a 14–5 victory over Youngstown State and a 12–5 win over Wagner.
- Bryant had seven different players find the back of the net in its 17–9 win over Stonehill.
- New Hampshire entered the fourth quarter tied 4–4 with Sacred Heart and shut out the Pioneers to record a 7–4 win.
- UVM poured in a season-best 22 goals to defeat the unanimous NEC preseason favorites, LIU, 22–7.
Offensive Player of the Week
Paisley Cook, UAlbany – Jr., Akwesasne, N.Y.
- Set the America East record with 21 draw controls and recorded the second-most draw controls in a single NCAA game this season.
- Recorded four goals and one assist in a close loss to UConn.
- This is Cook’s second #AEWLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sabine Godwin, Vermont – Jr., Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.
- Logged a program-record 17 draw controls in the Catamounts’ win over LIU.
- Caused five turnovers across two games and chipped in with a ground ball in each contest.
- This is Godwin’s first #AEWLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Emine Luznar, UMBC – So., Catonsville, Md.
- Picked up two wins on the week, allowing just 10 combined goals.
- Posted a .630 save percentage on the week turning away 17 shots.
- This is Luznar’s first #AEWLAX Goalie of the Week honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Olivia Worden, UMBC – Fr., Riverside, Calif.
- Scored her first career goal and first career hat trick on three shots against Youngstown State.
- Recorded a goal against Wagner and added a caused turnover to help the Retrievers go 2-0 on the week.
- This is Worden’s first #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
