#AEWLAX Week 1:Three Teams Victorious in Opening Weekend


All seven #AEWLAX programs are in action this week, incluiding UAlbany and UMBC making their season debuts. 
   
The preseason poll was announced on January 14.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of the #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEWLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 9
Offensive Player of the Week
Emily DeGeorge, Bryant - Sr., Midfielder, Feeding Hills, Mass
  • Recorded seven points off seven goals in the Bulldogs' 16-5 victory.
  • This is DeGeorge's first #AEWLAX Honor of the season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kaelynn O'Brien, Bryant - Jr., Defender, Lynbrook, NY
  • Caused four turnovers in Bryant's 16-5 win over Sacred Heart.
  • Picked up five ground balls in the contest.
  • This is O'Brien's first #AEWLAX Honor of the season.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Alexa Kuhn, UMass Lowell - Jr., Goaltender, Rocky Point, N.Y.
  • Logged 11 saves in the River Hawk's win over  Manhatten
  • Helped to shutout The Jaspers in fourth quarter with one save
  • This is Kuhn's first #AEWLAX Honor of the season
Rookie of the Week
Brienne Brezynskie, UMass Lowell -- Fr., Midfielder, Elmira, Ontario
  • Logged three goals in the collegiate debut
  • Chipped in with two groundballs, two draw controls and caused two turnovers
  • This is Brezynskie's first career #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
