Men's Basketball 2/5/2026 11:43:12 AM Men’s #AEHoops Preview: Feb. 5-7 BOSTON – There is a three-way tie atop the men’s #AEHoops Standings with Vermont, UMBC and NJIT all at 6-2 in league play. A lot could change this weekend with another of tough matchups. UAlbany (3-5) at Bryant (3-5) – 6 PM The Great Danes have dropped four straight since a win over Vermont on MLK Day. Most recently they fell to NJIT (77-68) and UMBC (68-65). Bryant took down UNH last Saturday to snap a 3-game losing streak as both teams look to move close to .500. In the first matchup between the two programs, UAlbany blew out Bryant 71-46. The Great Danes outscored them 30-12 in the second half. Amir Lindsey led four players in double figures with 21 points. UAlbany is 6th in scoring (67.5) and is 2nd in scoring defense (65.9) within conference play. The Bulldogs are 5th in scoring defense (70.1) and 9th in scoring offense at 62.9 ppg. Vermont (6-2) at Maine (3-5) – 6 PM The Catamounts are coming off a home 79-77 loss to NJIT, snapping a three-game losing streak. Maine, meanwhile, fell 91-77 to UMass Lowell but has won 2 of 3 overall as they’re tied for 6th in the standings. Vermont took down Maine 67-62 earlier this season at home. TJ Hurley led the Catamounts with 18 points while Sean Blake had 17 in the contest. Maine is 8th in scoring (63.1) but third in scoring defense (66.3) in #AEHoops action. The Catamounts lead the league in scoring defense (63.9) while placing 5th in scoring (69.4) Binghamton (1-7) at UMBC (6-2) – 6 PM The Retrievers have won 4 of 5 overall, including a 68-65 victory at UAlbany on Saturday. The Bearcats secured their first conference win last Thursday with a 63-60 victory over Bryant. Four of Binghamton’s seven losses have been by six points or less. Earlier this season UMBC flew past Binghamton 78-60, jumping out to a 38-26 halftime lead. Jah'Likai King finished with 21 points, four rebounds and one steal as four players scored in double figures. Binghamton is 7th in scoring (64.1) within conference play and 8th in scoring defense (72.5). UMBC, meanwhile, is 3rd in scoring offense (73.1) and 4th in scoring defense (66.8) UMass Lowell (4-4) at NJIT (6-2) – 6 PM NJIT it tied for 1st place after an impressive sweep of UAlbany and Vermont last weekend. The Highlanders led Vermont by as much as 17 points early in the second half before a late Catamount run. UMass Lowell snapped a four-game losing streak with a 91-77 win over Maine. UMass Lowell lost 73-64 at home to NJIT in the first matchup of the season. The Highlanders led 36-17 at the half and were led by the duo of Sebastian Robinson and Air Fulton, who had 20 and 24 points respectively. The Highlanders lead the league in offense (75.6), while ranking 6th in scoring defense at 70.8 ppg. UMass Lowell, meanwhile, is 7th in scoring defense (71.8) and 4th in scoring (71.6).
