UMass Lowell Men and Bryant Women Lead After Day One of #AETF Indoor Championship

BOSTON – Following the first day of competition, Bryant is at the top of the women’s standings with Binghamton close behind. On the men’s side UMass Lowell rode some impressive performances to gain the top spot after day one of the 2026 #AETF Indoor Championships.
 
UMass Lowell men claimed five medals on the day, including one gold and two silvers to total 52 points, leading New Hampshire who has 47 and Binghamton in third with 39. Defending champion UAlbany is 4th (29) while Bryant rounds out the top five (25).
 
Defending champion UAlbany and Binghamton both have impressive performances but it is Bryant on the women’s side that leads the way with 53.33 points.
Binghamton follows tight behind with 49 points and UAlbany stands at 45. Closing out the top five is New Hampshire (35) and UMBC (29).

Day 1 Highlights
  • Nattaly Lindo secured her first-ever gold in the weight throw with a toss of 18.40 meters, edging teammate Lalenii Grant and UMBC’s Ava Roberts.
  • Kalen Knott of Bryant captured his first indoor pole vault title with a reaching a height of 5.00 meters, while Binghamton Owen Keating was second at 4.90 meters.
  • New Hampshire’s Sarah Moore tied the conference record in the long jump with her leap of 6.21 meters, matching the mark of Keishorea Armstrong that was set in 2016.
  • New Hampshire pulled off a sweep in the 1000 meters as Claire Ronan edged out Kathleen Schwaner of UMBC by just 0.05 seconds with her time of 2:49.90. On the men’s side Julian Rime won by over one second with his time of 2:23.70.
  • In the women’s pentathlon UMass Lowell’s Fleur Balogh took home first place with 3,496 points just over hundred points ahead of second place winner Logan Wheeler of Binghamton. For the men, former champion Brennan Delany leads the way with 3,303 in the heptathlon at the end of day one.
  • It was a clean sweep in the men’s weight throw as Yoofi Abaka-Amuah led a Wildcat trio with a toss of 21.18 meters for gold, while teammates Liam McGovern and Caden Zalenski rounded out the podium.
  • Alyssa Armitage captured her fourth straight indoor pole vault championship, clearing a height of 3.80 meter and becoming the first Binghamton woman to accomplish the feat.
  • Bearcat Putu Sutayasas took home the long jump title in a mark of 7.26 meters, followed by Samir Gardner and Brandon Riley.
  • In women’s DMR, UAlbany claimed the title by nearly three seconds over UMBC, with Binghamton taking third and Bryant in fourth.
  • During the final event of day one, UMBC men’s track and field secured first place in the DMR with a time of 9:55.88. New Hampshire was close behind finishing 9:57.00 just ahead of Maine who finished third with a time of 9:57.17.
