UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse Ranked 19th in USILA Preseason Poll

BOSTON – Following the program’s second straight conference title, UAlbany men’s lacrosse was ranked 19th in the USILA Preseason Poll, released earlier this week. The Great Danes were also picked 19th by Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine.
 
UAlbany went 10-8 last season and were the No. 3 Seed in the conference tournament, taking down No. 2 UMBC 9-7 in the #AEMLAX Semifinals and then beating No. 1 Bryant 12-7 for the Championship.
 
Senior Silas Richmond, the reigning #AEMLAX Offensive Player of the Year was selected as a Preseason Second-Team All-American by both USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse. Richmond led the league with 89 points on 43 goals and 46 assists, for 4.7 points per game last year.
 
Vermont’s Jack Combs was named a Preseason All-American Honorable Mention by Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine after earning First-Team All-Conference honors each of the past two seasons. Last season he led the America East with 2.0 caused turnovers per game and sixth with 4.6 ground balls per game.
 
Max Neeson was honored by USA Lacrosse Magazine as a Preseason All-American Honorable Mention after leading the Great Dane defense last season. The 2025 #AEMLAX Defensive Player of the Year had 27 caused turnovers in 19 game and added six goals as a junior.
 
The 2026 #AEMLAX Season begins on Saturday, Feb. 7 with four teams in action. UMass Lowell hosts Quinnipiac, while Binghamton travels to Lafayette, Bryant plays at Providence and NJIT goes to St. John’s.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch nearly every #AEMLAX contest this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV.
