Semifinal Recap
No. 4 Maine 1, No. 1 Binghamton 0 (2OT)
- Neither team had many opportunities in the first half, with Maine putting three shots on goal and Binghamton a pair.
- The best scoring chance for Maine came in the final 45 seconds as Victoria Dungey forced a diving save from Rebecca Kessler on a shot from just outside the box.
- The teams battled throughout the second half with each managing a single shot on target and three combined corners.
- In double overtime Jordane Pinnette took a beautiful through ball, touched it past her defender and made a move around the goalkeeper. With no clean angle on the goal she fed it across the six to Dungey, who blasted home the game winner past the scrambling defense.
- Elena Barenberg finished the night with four saves for Maine to secure the win, while Kessler had four saves in the loss.
No. 6 Bryant 3, No. 1 Vermont 1
- The Bulldogs got on the board first as Colleen Ardolino sent home a corner kick from Madison Luke in the 19th minute with a header.
- It looked like Bryant would take a 1-0 lead into halftime but Lauren DeGroot, a second-team All-Conference selection shot up the field with time winding down, split two Bulldog defenders and beat Selena Negron low to the right with five seconds left in the stanza.
- In the 53rd minute DeGroot collected her second goal of the game. Madeline Gardner made a move around the defender on the wing and then sent a cross to the middle of the six for DeGroot who one-timed it home.
- Sydney Remington added an insurance goal in the 59th minute into the bottom corner of the net from just inside the 18 on a feed from Ashley Bough.
- Vermont’s defense did the rest as Goalkeeper of the Year Kylee Carafoli finished with one save in the victory.
