#AEWLAX Week 5: Four Teams Take Home Wins

BOSTON - Four America East women’s lacrosse teams picked up at least one win, and Bryant secure two in the final full week before conference play begins.

 
Need to Know: 
  • Bryant opened the week with a 14-13 overtime victory at Quinnipiac and then finished off their unbeaten week with a dominant 13-5 win against LIU at home.
  • UAlbany went 1-0 last week, edging Colgate 16-13, as Ravan Marsell went off for seven points.
  • UMBC and Binghamton each went 1-1 last week, losing their midweek games, but finishing with victories over American and Robert Morris.
 
Looking Ahead
  • There are five midweek games, including two by UMass Lowell who is playing at Wofford and Furman.
  • Conference play opens on Saturday as UMBC welcomes Binghamton at 12 p.m.
  • UAlbany then travels to UNH, while Vermont and Bryant square off in R.I.

Offensive Player of the Week

Ravan Marsell, UAlbany – So., Midfield, Theresa, N.Y.
  • Scored five goals with two assists for seven points in a win at Colgate.
  • Added five draws and one ground ball.
  • This is Marsell’s first #AEWLAX Player of the Week honor this season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kaelynn O’Brien, Bryant – Jr., Defense, Lynbrook, N.Y
  • Had four caused turnovers, three ground balls and seven draws in a 2-0 week.
  • Had four caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 13-5 win over LIU.
  • This is O’Brien’s third #AEWLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Grace Cincebox, UAlbany – Sr., Goalkeeper, Pittsford, N.Y.
  • Made 9 saves in a win over Colgate.
  • Added one ground ball in her fourth win of the season.
  • This is Cincebox’s third #AEWLAX Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.
  
Rookie of the Week
Mya Carroll, UAlbany – Fr., Attack, Fulton, N.Y.
  • Recorded four points on three goals and one assist in a win over Colgate.
  • Grabbed five draw controls with one caused turnover.
  • This is Carroll’s second #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
