#AESB Week 5: UMass Lowell Finishes Weekend 4-1

BOSTON – UMass Lowell, Binghamton and UMBC picked up wins over the weekend.

Binghamton went 3-2, taking down Niagara on Friday and finishing the weekend dominating Colgate with a 8-1 win. The Riverhawks found their spark as they went 4-1 over the weekend, with three games being complete shutouts, UMass Lowell defeated Central Connecticut and Coppin State. UMBC went 2-1 against Morgan State over the weekend and now claims second place in the standings at 6-7.
 
All six #AESB programs are in action this weekend. UMass Lowell begins the week against George Washington today at 12 and 2 p.m. Multiple teams face out of conference competition Wednesday starting at noon.

2026 #AESB Weekly Award Winner – Mar. 10
Co-Player of the Week 
Emily Riggs, UMBC – Sr., Third Base, Lancaster, Pa.
  • Slashed 1.000/1.333/2.333 by going 6-6 with two walks, two doubles, and a run scored.
  • In the field, Riggs had a 1.000 fielding percentage with five putouts and three assists.
  • This is Riggs’ first #AESB Player of the Week honor of the year.
Co-Player of the Week 
Rachel Carey, Binghamton – So., Infield, Bridgeville, Del.
  • Hit .611 with two home runs and seven RBI.
  • Had an on base percentage of .600 with a 1.000 slugging percentage. Currently leads the conference with a .475 batting average.
  • This is Carey’s first #AESB Player of the Week honor of the year.

Pitcher of the Week 
Olivia DeCitise, UMass Lowell – Jr., Pitcher, Troy, N.Y.
  • Went 3-0 with a 0.47 ERA across 15.0 innings.
  • Allowed just five hits and one earned run while striking out 21 batters and holding opponents to a .098 batting average.
  • This is DeCitise’s second #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor this year.
 
Rookie of the Week 
Lauren Payne, Binghamton – Fr., Infield, Lancaster, N.Y.
  • Hit .533 during a 3-2 week for Binghamton.
  • Finished the weekend with a .556 on base percentage and a .600 slugging percentage.
  • This is Payne’s first-ever #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
