UMass Lowell & Binghamton Bats Go Off on Day 1 of Northeast Delta Dental #AESB Championship

ORONO, Maine – Both No. 2 Binghamton and No. 4 UMass Lowell trailed early on Wednesday in the Northeast Delta Dental #AESB Championship, but the bats came alive late to propel both teams to impressive victories. Top seed Bryant had its first scheduled game pushed to Thursday morning due to inclement weather.

In the first game of the day, the No. 4 River Hawks trailed No. 3 UAlbany 1-0 through four innings, but the River Hawks tallied six runs in the fifth inning and added two more for the 8-1 victory.

Defending champion Binghamton trailed No. 5 Maine 3-0 going into the bottom of the fourth but broke out for nine runs in the frame and then added three more in the sixth on the way to the 12-5 victory.

Due to the weather, top seed Bryant will now face off against No. 4 UMass Lowell at 11 a.m. in a game originally scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
