#AESB Week 2: UAlbany and UMBC Open Up Season with Win

BOSTON – UAlbany, UMBC, and Bryant pick up wins in the second weekend of #AESB action.

UAlbany started the weekend with a win 6-0 over Mercyhurst while UMBC took down St. Bonaventure 7-0 on Friday. Bryant capped off the weekend with a 3-1 win over Northern Kentucky University. 
 
Three #AESB programs are in action this weekend. Maine and UMass Lowell start the weekend of action Friday at 1 p.m.
The preseason honors were announced on January 20.

2026 #AESB Weekly Award Winner – Feb. 17
Player of the Week 
Mary Kate Murray, UAlbany – Jr., Infield, East Brunswick, N.J.
  • Had two home runs against ETSU, totaled four hits.
  • Finished the weekend with a 1.00 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
  • This is Murray’s first #AESB Player of the Week honor of the year.
 
Pitcher of the Week 
Maggie Frisvold, UMBC – Jr., Pitcher, Laurel, Md.
  • Went 1-1 with 17 strikeouts and just three earned runs allowed in 13 innings.
  • Only walked four and pitched two complete games with a career-high 11 strikeouts in a complete game victory over St. Bonaventure.
  • This is Frisvold’s first #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor this year.
 
Rookie of the Week 
Katie Parisi, UAlbany – Fr., Outfield, Colonie, N.Y.
  • Earned a multi-base hit in three of four games this weekend. Finished the weekend with a .857 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage.
  • Totaled seven hits in 14 at bats including two doubles against ETSU on Saturday.
  • This is Parisis’ first-ever #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
