BOSTON – UAlbany, Binghamton, and UMBC all earned sweeps over the weekend as conference play continues for our #AESB teams. The Retrievers have started conference play 7-2, winning six of their last seven games. Saturday’s doubleheader featured extra innings, and a game inning two-run homer from Jolie Torrens. UMBC dominanted in game two as they took down Maine 6-1.
Binghamton had a dominant weekend as they took down Bryant in three games. The Bearcats finished out the sweep with a 9-0 victory, ending in five innings. Binghamton is now 6-2 in conference play and have won seven of their last nine contests. UAlbany got their eighth straight win of the season against UMass Lowell Friday. The Great Danes went 2-0 versus the Riverhawks as they continue to rise in conference play.
Week four of conference play begins this weekend as Maine hosts Binghamton, Bryant takes on UMass Lowell, and UMBC faces UAlbany on Saturday.

- Tied career high with four RBI in game three against Bryant.
- This is Lawson’s second #AESB Player of the Week honor of the season.
Pitcher of the Week
Kate Powers, UAlbany – Sr., Pitcher, Hope Valley, R.I.
- Went 2-0 with a save against UMass Lowell.
- Didn’t allow an ER in 11 1/3 innings pitched while striking out 12 batters.
- This is Powers’ first career #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor
Rookie of the Week
Rachel Carey, Binghamton – Fr., Infield, Lorton, Va.
- Slashed .400/.667/1.600 with two HR, four BBs and four runs scored
- This is Carey’s third career #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
