#AEWLAX Week 12: Bryant & UMass Lowell Share Regular-Season Title

BOSTON –Bryant defeated previously unbeaten UMass Lowell 15-8 on the final day of the regular season to earn a share of its first #AEWLAX Regular Season Title, the No. 1 seed, and hosting rights for the championship. Despite the loss, UMass Lowell also claimed a share of its first title and will be the No. 2 seed.

UAlbany secured the No. 3 Seed with a dominant 20-9 win over Binghamton, finishing 4-2, while UMBC ended 3-3 after an 18-14 loss to Vermont.

Host Bryant will face No. 4 UMBC on Fridya at 4 p.m. while No. 2 UMass Lowell will battle No. UAlbany at 7 p.m. The Championship will be played Sunday at 12 p.m.

Both semifinals will stream on ESPN+ (domestic) and AmericaEast.tv (international), with the championship game set for Sunday at 12 p.m. on ESPN+.

  Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of the #AEWLAX games this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Meghan O'Connor, Vermont – Gr., Midfield, Queensbury, NY
  • O'Connor recorded a career-high nine points, tying her career-high with six goals and adding a career-high three assists.
  • The graduate-student midfielder also logged two ground balls for the Catamounts in the win.
  • This is O'Connor’s first #AEWLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Defensive Player of the Week
Jess Colalillo, Bryant – Sr., Defense, Syosset, NY
  • Colalillo helped lead the Bulldogs' defensive efforts with a team-high three caused turnovers and collected one ground ball.
  • The senior defender played the full 60 minutes and helped Bryant hold the River Hawks to their third-lowest goal total of the season.
  • This is Colalillo’s first #AEWLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Sam Centofante, Bryant – Gr., Goalkeeper, Valley Forge, PA
  • Centofante logged a .529 save percentage, recording nine saves on 23 shots faced, and collected one ground ball to help the Bulldogs earn the No. 1 seed in the #AEWLAX Tournament.
  • The graduate-student goalkeeper also chipped in with a caused turnover in the victory.
  • This is Centofante’s third #AEWLAX Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season.

Rookie of the Week
Caitlin Haggerty, Vermont – Fr., Attack, Rockville Centre, NY
  • Haggerty found the back of the net twice and added an assist in the Catamounts' 18-14 victory over UMBC.
  • This is Haggerty’s second #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor this season.
