BOSTON – The second weekend of conference play started with dominant wins from UMass Lowell and UAlbany. The River Hawks took over with a three-game sweep of Maine while the Great Danes went a perfect 3-0 against Bryant. UMBC took its series from Binghamton Sunday, with an 11-10 victory.
UMass Lowell secured a two-run win over Maine on Saturday and then followed it up with a 6-3 victory. The River Hawks finished the sweep off with a 6-1 victory on Sunday.The Great Danes dominated in their second weekend of conference play, taking down the Bulldogs 6-2 and 10-2 on Saturday before securing the sweep with a 9-1 victory on Sunday. UAlbany came out swinging this weekend with an unstoppable offense, helping them secure a 3-2 record in conference play.
In the final match-up of the weekend, UMBC’s Maggie Frisvold hit a ground out in the bottom of the seventh that resulted in a two-run error that gave UMBC a come-from-behind win to take the series from Binghamton.
Conference play continues this weekend as Maine hosts to UMBC, Bryant takes on Binghamton, and UAlbany faces UMass Lowell.
