BOSTON –Four #AEWLAX programs added a check in the win column this past week.
On Wednesday, Bryant defeated Quinnipiac, 16-13, thanks to five fourth-quarter goals, while UMass Lowell recorded 12 of their 16 points against Le Moyne in the first half en route to a 16-6 victory. On Saturday, UMBC posted a 13-11 victory over Furman, thanks in part to Katana Nelson’s game-high six goals, while Vermont handled LIU, 11-6, limiting them to three combined goals spread out over the final three quarters.
Conference play begins on Friday with Bryant and UMBC, but before that gets underway, Binghamton will visit Manhattan, New Hampshire will play host to BU, and UAlbany will welcome in the 2024 NCAA Champions, No. 1 Boston College.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of the #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Offensive Player of the Week
Katana Nelson, UMBC - Jr., Attack Hummelstown, Pa.
- Nelson scored a combined 10 goals on the week.
- Logged four goals and had two ground balls against Delaware.
- Found the back of the net a career-high six times in the win versus Furman.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jessica Tosone, Bryant- Jr., Defense, Walpole, MA
- Recorded a team-high five Caused turnovers and picked up four ground balls in the Bulldog’s win over quinnipiac.
- Ended the week with a total of seven caused turnovers and 10 ground balls.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Alexa Kuhn, UMass Lowell - So., Goalkeeper, Rocky Point, N.Y.
- Made 11 saves in a 1-1 week.
- Allowed only one goal in 30 minutes played in the River Hawk’s 16-6 win over Le Monye
Rookie of the Week
Ellie Thomas, New Hampshire - Fr., Goalkeeper, Needham, Mass.
- Thoms Recorded a 7.00 GAA and .588 save percentage for the week.
- Made 10 saves in UNH’s 7-5 loss at Sacred Heart.
- Allowed only one goal in 30 minutes played in the River Hawk’s 16-6 win over Le Monye.
