#AEWLAX Week 2: Three Programs Earn Awards

BOSTON – The 2025 season is fully underway with all seven #AEWLAX teams in action. In midweek action UMBC picked up a 20-5 win in their season opener on Tuesday, while UMass Lowell downed Merrimack, 17-8, on Wednesday.

Three other teams joined the win column over weekend as Vermont, Binghamton, and Bryant, downed Le Moyne, Siena and Monmouth, respectively. 
 
 
The preseason poll was announced on January 15.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of the #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEWLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 17

Defensive Player of the Week
Madison Carter, UMass Lowell: Fr., - Baltimore, Md.
  • Was a crucial part of the defense in both of the River Hawk’s wins
  • Caused two turnovers and collected a ground ball in the 17-8 win against Merrimack

Offensive Player of the Week
Blloshmi Emma, Binghamton: Jr., - West Babylon, N.Y.
  • Recorded 10 points, eight goals, two assists, seven ground balls, seven draw controls and two caused turnovers in two games for the Bearcats last week
  • Posted back-to-back five point performances of four goals and one assist against Colgate and Siena
  • Converted on 3-6 of free position shots

Goalkeeper of the Week
Alexa Kuhn, UMass Lowell: So., - Rocky Point, N.Y
  • Made 16 saves while only allowing 10 goals in a 2-0 week
  • Posted a .615 save percentage on the week

Rookie of the Week
Emily Knapp, UMBC: Fr., -  Abingdon, Md.
  • Scored 11 goals in two outing against Delaware State ( 5 Goals) and Howard ( 6 Goals)
  • Tallied four assists, four caused turnovers and picked up six ground balls
