#AEWLAX Week 12: Binghamton & UAlbany Share Regular Season Title

BOSTON – Binghamton secured a share of its first-ever #AEWLAX Regular Season Championship on Saturday with a dominant win, while UAlbany claimed its second straight regular season title with a strong second half on Saturday to conclude the regular season.

The Great Danes started slow but finished with an 18-9 win over UNH, while the Bearcats shot past Bryant for a 20-8 victory. Both teams finished tied at 5-1 in the standings, but UAlbany won the head-to-head matchup to secure the top overall seed and hosting duties for the upcoming #AEWLAX Tournament. UMass Lowell came through with one of its biggest wins in program history, beating Vermont 16-11 and taking the final playoff spot.

On Friday top seed UAlbany will host UMass Lowell at 1 p.m. in the first semifinal, a team which they beat just 10-7 two a few weeks ago. In the second semifinal at 4 p.m., Binghamton and UMBC will face off. The Bearcats beat the Retrievers in overtime two weeks ago.

The preseason poll was announced on January 17.
