#AEWLAX Week 10: UMBC & Binghamton Keep Winning

BOSTON – UMBC took a big step towards at least a share of its first-ever #AELWAX Regular Season Championship on Saturday, while Binghamton was dominant in victory and UMass Lowell earned one of its biggest wins in program history on Saturday.

The Retrievers (4-1) led Vermont just 5-4 at the half, but exploded for five goals in the third quarter for an insurmountable lead on the way to an 11-7 victory. UMass Lowell jumped out to an early lead and withstood a Bryant run to come away with a 16-13 victory to improve to 2-2 in the league. Binghamton moved to 4-1 in #AEWLAX action with a 20-8 win over UNH, one of three teams with a single conference loss.

With just two weeks remaining in the regular season five different teams still have a chance at earning at least a share of the regular season title. UMBC leads all teams with a 4-1 mark and should the Retrievers take down Binghamton on Saturday they would clinch at least a share of the regular season title as well as the top overall seed in the #AEWLAX Tournament. UMBC has a bye the final week of the regular season.

Binghamton is 3-1 and if it beats UMBC, the Bearcats move into at least a share of first place with one game remaining. UAlbany is 3-1 and hosts 2-2 UMass Lowell at 12 p.m. Should the Great Danes win they have a chance to earn at least a share of the #AEWLAX Title the following week, while the River Hawks are looking to win and improve their chances for their first-ever #AEWLAX Tournament appearance. Bryant hosts UNH (0-4) at it seeks a 3-2 record in league action.
