#AEWLAX Week 4: Six Teams Earn Wins in Impressive Week

BOSTON – Six #AEWLAX programs secured a victory last week and the group of seven combined to go 9-3 overall, led by UMBC, Bryant and Binghamton who all went 2-0. Currently five of seven programs over a record over .500.
 
The Retrievers took down Mount St. Mary’s 15-11 and La Salle 14-17, while Binghamton dispatched Siena 15-9 and Campbell 22-6. Bryant beat LIU 20-9 and Lafayette 15-7. UMass Lowell, meanwhile, improved to a perfect 6-0 with its 16-10 at Winthrop on Sunday. Four different players had at least eight points in a single contest last week to highlight a number of strong performances for the league.
 
This week features 12 #AEWLAX contests, highlighted by UAlbany traveling to face #1 Northwestern, for their third matchup against teams currently ranked in the top three this season. Bryant battle #25 Brown while UMass Lowell looks to stay undefeated against Gardner-Webb.
 
 
The preseason poll was announced on January 17.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of the #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. #AEWLAX Weekly Award Winners – March 4
Offensive Player of the Week
Kenna Kaut, Bryant – Sr., Attack, Media, Pa.
  • Finished with 14 goals on 18 shots with eight draws, four ground balls and one caused turnover in a 2-0 week.
  • Set a school record with ten goals, on 11 shots, and six draws against LIU. The 10 goals is the most in the nation this year.
  • Add four goals, four ground balls and two caused turnovers in a win over Lafayette
  • This is Kaut’s second career #AEWLAX Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Sam Centofante, Bryant – Sr., Goalkeeper, Valley Forge, Pa.
  • Went 2-0 with 15 saves, an 8.00 GAA and a .486 save percentage over two games.
  • Best contest was a 15-7 win over Lafayette, allowing seven goals with seven saves and three ground balls.
  • This is Centofante’s second career #AEWLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jillian Goldie, UMass Lowell – Fr., Midfield, Owen Sound, Ontario
  • Finished with one goal and three assists in a 16-10 victory over Winthrop.
  • This is Goldie’s second #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
