#AEWLAX Week 7: UAlbany Stay Perfect in League Action

BOSTON – UAlbany became the first #AEWLAX program to improve to 2-0 in league play with win over the weekend, while UMBC and Binghamton both earned their first conference victories.

The Great Danes jumped out to a 6-0 lead over UVM after one quarter and led 8-0 before the Catamounts got on the board, on the way to an impressive 17-7 road win. They are now 2-0 in league play with wins over the two teams seeded #2 and #3 in last year’s tournament.

UMBC had one of its most complete games of the year in taking down New Hampshire 13-8 on Friday afternoon. Binghamton shut out UMass Lowell 7-0 in the third quarter to turn a deficit into a lead as the Bearcats held on for the 14-9 win.

Vermont looks to rebound from Sunday’s loss when the team hosts Binghamton, who beat them in the #AEWLAX Semifinals a season ago. Elsewhere, UAlbany welcomes Bryant for a 1 p.m. contest between two teams currently unbeaten in league play. UMBC travels to UMass Lowell for a 4 p.m. contest.

The preseason poll was announced on January 17.
