Retrievers & River Hawks Pocket Week 5 #AESB Awards

Boston, MA - UMass Lowell kicked things off for #AESB by splitting their double header against George Mason taking them down 5-3 on Tuesday. More #AESB success followed with UAlbany splitting their double header with FDU on Friday beating them 9-1. UMBC swept their Friday matchups defeating Merrimack and UMass, as well as taking one from UNC Greensboro. And Binghamton was able to find the win column against St. Joseph’s beating them 7-1.
 
Here are the week 4 #AESB Award Winners: 
 
Player of the Week 
Amaya Caroll, UMBC - So., Utility, Hanover, Md.
  • Slashed .438/.563/1.001 OPS, while mashing two doubles, scoring a pair of runs, 3 RBI, 
  • Went 2-2 on stolen bases and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. 
 
Pitcher of the Week
Ryley White, UMass Lowell - Gr., Pitcher, Wareham, Mass.
  • Helped lead the River Hawks to a win over George Mason with 5 strikeouts. 
  • Held batters faced to a .214 batting average with one earned run and allowing no walks 
 
Rookie of the Week
Amya Lundy, UMBC - Fr., Third Base, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Batted .357 for the week with a .412 OBP and a team-high 5 RBI. She also doubled, scored 2 runs and went 3-for-3 on stolen bases. 
  • She was perfect in the field at third base, recording 6 putouts and 8 assists on a 1.000 fielding percentage
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AESB this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV.
