BOSTON – The 2024-25 #AESD season is underway as five programs started their seasons over the last two weeks, with Vermont competing in a league-best three meets already.
The 2024 Women’s #AESD Champions started their title defense on Sept. 28, where they fell to Northeastern. They also dropped a dual meet to Army before taking down Marist 170-127 on Saturday. Binghamton started its men’s title defense with a strong opening meet at home against Le Moyne on Sept. 28. This past weekend, NJIT, UMBC and Maine all competed in their first meets of the year.
This coming weekend, NJIT hosts the NJIT Invitational, where Vermont will also be competing, while Bryant opens its season at home against Fairfield. UMBC will travel to Navy.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Elijah Lanfear, Binghamton – Sr., Binghamton, N.Y.
- Won three individual events in a dual meet against Le Moyne and swam on first place 200 medley relay team.
- Won the 50 free (21.21) and the 50 fly (22.29) with league-best times, with the second-best time in the 200 free (1:42.94).
- This is Lanfear’s fifth career #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor.
Male Diver of the Week
Isaac Poole, UMBC – Gr., Shoreline, Wash.
- Won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with NCAA Zone cut scores.
- Finished with a 339.08 in 3-meter and 311.78 in the 1-meter event.
- This is Poole’s first #AESD Diving of the Week honor.
Male Rookie of the Week
Kaleb Cave, UMBC – Fr., Columbia, Md.
- Took second in the first two diving events of his college career, behind Isaac Poole.
- Scored a 270.38 in the 3-meter event and then 266.25 in the 1-meter event.
- This is Cave’s first #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Hally Laney, Vermont – Sr., Decatur, Ga.
- Claimed three individual events in a dual meet at Marist and also helped the Catamounts the 200 medley relay.
- Beat the field by 4.67 seconds in the 100 fly (57.41) and 4.30 seconds in the 200 IM (2:09.17).
- Swam a season-best 56.51 in the 100 fly on Friday in a meet with CCSU and Army.
- This is Laney’s fifth career #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor.
Female Diver of the Week
Ember Stennett, UMBC – So., Lake Barrington, Ill.
- Won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in season-opening meet.
- Finished with a 255.00 in the 1-meter, just 10.0 from a NCAA Zone cut and won the 3-meter with a score of 238.58.
- This is Stennett's first #AESD Diving of the Week honor.
Female Rookie of the Week
Jocelyn LeGere, Vermont – Fr., Austin, Texas
- On Saturday, won the 200 back in 2:07.69, currently the fastest time in the conference.
- Also took third in the 200 IM (2:14.42) at Marist and took fourth in the 400 IM (4:40.84) against Army and CCSU.
- This is LeGere’s first #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
