BOSTON – In a wild final day of #AEWLAX action, New Hampshire earned the fourth and final spot in the 2023 America East Women’s Lacrosse Championship, which begins play on Friday, May 5. UAlbany claimed the top overall seed for the second straight year and won its first outright regular season title since 2011.
The Great Danes went a perfect 6-0 in conference play, after holding off Bryant 11-10 to conclude the regular season. No. 2 Binghamton finished 5-1 for its best conference record in program history. Defending champion Vermont clinched the No. 3 seed with a 4-2 mark while New Hampshire (2-4) secured the final spot thanks to a tiebreak.

New Hampshire, Bryant and UMBC all finished 2-4 in conference play after the Bulldogs lost 11-10 to UAlbany and the Retrievers edged the Wildcats 17-15. UNH trailed 17-11 in the fourth, but scored four times in the final four minutes to trim the final margin to just 17-15.
All three teams finished 1-1 against each other, as well as 1-0 against UMass Lowell and 0-3 against the top three seeds. The next tiebreak was goal differential among the three tied teams. UNH finished at a +2 thanks to its late surge on Saturday, while UMBC was +1 and Bryant was -3 overall.
The Great Danes will host UNH on Friday at 1 p.m. on AETV, while No. 2 Binghamton and No. 3 Vermont will square off at 4 p.m. on AETV.
The semifinal winners will battle for the 2023 America East Championship on Sunday at 10 a.m. on ESPNU.
