#AEWLAX Week 9: Binghamton & UAlbany Battle for First This Saturday

BOSTON – Binghamton became the first #AEWLAX program to clinch a playoff spot, taking down Bryant, while Vermont and UAlbany secured crucial victories with just three weeks left in the regular season.

Binghamton extended its winning streak to seven games by locking down the top offense in the league with a 19-7 victory over Bryant. The Bearcats gave up just one goal over the final 35 minutes of the contest. Vermont scored the final four goals against UNH to secure a 16-13 win and improve to 2-2 in conference play. UAlbany improved to 3-0 with a 15-14 win over UMBC and then played No. 2 Northwestern even through the first half but ultimately fell 21-11.

This Saturday, Binghamton could claim a share of their first #AEWLAX regular season title with a win against UAlbany at home. The Great Danes are 3-0 and if they win, it will secure a playoff spot and give them the inside track on securing the regular season title and top overall seed.

UNH hosts Bryant and UMBC welcomes UMass Lowell in the other two conference games. The Wildcats and Bulldogs are both coming off tough losses and Bryant could secure a playoff spot with a victory. The River Hawks and Retrievers each seek their first conference win of the year.

The preseason poll was announced on January 26.
