BOSTON – Binghamton and Vermont headlined an impressive week for #AEWLAX, as the Bearcats and Catamounts both went 2-0 and the conference finished 6-3 overall this past week.
UVM opened the week with a 12-7 win over Harvard and finished it with a 20-6 victory against Siena on Sunday, while Binghamton took down Marist 18-7 and Colgate 17-9. UMBC continued its impressive start to the year with an 11-10 overtime victory against Temple, while UAlbany came up just short against No. 18 Stanford 21-20.
Six contests are scheduled this week, including the first conference contests of the year on Saturday. Binghamton (4-4) hosts 5-2 UMBC, while Vermont (3-4) welcomes Bryant (4-2) and New Hampshire (1-5) travels to UMass Lowell (5-3).
The preseason poll was announced on January 26.

Offensive Player of the Week
Claire Bockstie, UMBC – Sr., Attack, Forest Hill, Md.
- Finished with seven points on five assists and two goals in 11-10 OT win against Temple.
- Scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Temple and also dished off two of her five assists in the fourth quarter.
- This is Bockstie’s fifth career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sophie McLaughlin, Vermont – Gr., Goalkeeper, Keene, N.H.
- Went 2-0 with 21 saves and a .617 save percentage.
- Made a season-high 13 saves with .640 save percentage in a win over Harvard
- Finished with eight saves and six goals allowed against Siena.
- This is McLaughlin’s seventh career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Jane Trauger, Vermont – Fr., Attack, Voorhees, N.J.
- Posted eight goals and three assists with two ground balls in a 2-0 week.
- Scored five goals with one assist in a win over Harvard.
- Had three goals and two assists in UVM’s victory against Siena.
- This is Trauger’s first #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
