BOSTON - The 2023 #AESB season opened up last week with Binghamton, Maine, and UMass Lowell all in action. All three saw a litany of competition in South Carolina and Florida, with both Binghamton and Maine earning a win in its respective tournaments.
This upcoming weekend is highlighted by the debut of #AESB newcomer Bryant on Friday, and the return of reigning champions UMBC on Saturday.
The preseason poll was released on January 31.
#AESB Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 14
Player of the Week
Kelby Drews, Maine – Gr., Infield, Hollywood, Fla.
- Compiled a .533 on base percentage in four games.
- Hit .432 (6-for-13)
- Scored two runs and one run batted in.
- This is Drews' first career #AESB Player of the Week honor.
Pitcher of the Week
Kaylie See, UMass Lowell – Gr., Pitcher, Chino, Calif.
- Compiled a 2.86 ERA in 7 1/3 innings.
- This is See's first career #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Brianna Roberts, Binghamton – Fr., Pitcher, Monroe, N.Y.
- Won her first collegiate start at the FGCU Tournament.
- Record 12 strikeouts in 11 innings of work.
- This is Roberts' first career #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AESB games this season. Select matchups will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices, and the America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching 'America East Conference' in app stores.
