BOSTON - The America East softball season returns to action in just over a week and three-time reigning champion UMBC has been voted to sit atop the 2023 #AESB standings.
The Retrievers, who seek to become just the second America East softball program to win three-straight league titles, received 23 points and four first-place votes, while UMass Lowell follows with 20 points and one first-place vote. Binghamton received the remaining first-place vote, sitting at fourth with a total of 16 points.

UMBC is led by the 2022 America East Woman of the Year, Courtney Coppersmith, who’s entering the season hoping to earn her fourth Pitcher of the Year honor.
The season officially returns with a River Hawks' double-header on February 9th. Newcomer Bryant will kick-off conference play alongside defending champs UMBC beginning March 25th. The full 2023 #AESB schedule can be found here.
The America East Softball Championship will be held at UMBC this year, taking place May 10-13th.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AESB games this season. Select matchups will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV.
