Bracket for 2022 #AESB Championship Set

It’s tourney time! After a competitive regular season, the bracket for the 2022 America East Softball Championship is set. UMBC claimed the regular-season crown for the second-straight year and will be the top seed for the tournament. The remaining seeds and matchups for the #AESB tournament were sewn up this weekend.

The tournament will feature six teams for the for the first time since 2019. The four-day double-elimination tournament will take place May 1-14 at Binghamton’s Bearcat Softball Complex for the fifth time since 2013. 

UAlbany will be the No. 2 seed, while UMass Lowell is No. 3, host Binghamton is No. 4, Hartford No. 5 and Maine No. 6. 

The tournament begins on Wednesday with No. 4 Binghamton facing No. 5 Hartford at 11 a.m. and No. 3 UMass Lowell taking on No. 6 Maine at 1:30 p.m. The two losing teams will play an elimination game at 4 p.m. The top seeds, No. 1 UMBC and No. 2 UAlbany, will be in action on Thursday, along with another elimination game. Three more games will be played Friday while the championship games will be played on Saturday. The league champion will receive an automatic bid to the 2022NCAA Softball Championship.
 
All games will air on ESPN+/3 domestically and AmericaEast.TV outside of the United States.
