Stony Brook Tops Florida, Masera Named #AEWLAX Player of the Week

BOSTON – No. 5/6 Stony Brook topped No. 11 Florida last weekend in Gainesville with two goals in the final seven minutes.
 
New Hampshire, Binghamton and Vermont also won on Saturday. For the Wildcats and Bearcats it was their second win of the week.
 
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ellie Masera, Stony Brook – So., Midfielder, Eastport, N.Y.
  • Scored four goals in Stony Brook’s 14-13 win over No. 11 Florida.
  • Masera scored the game-winner and also had an earlier assist for a five-point day.
  • This is her first career Player of the Week honor.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Carolyn Carrera, Vermont – Sr., Defender, Harriman, N.Y.
  • Career-high four cased turnovers in Vermont’s win over Siena.
  • Carrera also scooped up six ground balls.
  • This is her second Player of the Week honor this season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Olivia Muscolino, Binghamton – Fr., Attack, Baldwinsville, N.Y.
  • Tallied 10 points in a 2-0 week for Binghamton.
  • The freshman scored five goals against Lafayette followed by a four-goal, one-assist performance against Marist.
  • This is her first career #AEWLAX weekly honor.
