UMBC Sweeps #AEWLAX Awards

BOSTON – No. 5/6 Stony Brook snapped Vermont’s five-game winning streak on Saturday for the Seawolves’ first conference win of the season.
 
UAlbany beat Binghamton 15-11 and New Hampshire topped UMass Lowell 12-7 in league action. UMBC topped Delaware on the road last Wednesday for its sixth win of the season and third straight. The Retrievers head to Johns Hopkins tomorrow as part of a heavy non-league slate before three more conference games take place this weekend.
 
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Claire Bockstie, UMBC – Jr., Attack, Forest Hill, Md.
  • Six points on four goals and a pair of assists to lead UMBC over Delaware.
  • Bockstie ranks fourth in the country averaged over four goals per game.
  • This is her third Player of the Week honor this season and fourth of her career.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Lexi Roberts, UMBC – Gr., Goalkeeper, Baldwin, Md.
  • Career-high 20 saves in win at Delaware.
  • Allowed 11 goals for a .645 save percentage.
  • This is Roberts’ first Player of the Week nod this season and fourth of her career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kolby Weedon, UMBC – Fr., Attack, Catonsville, Md.
  • Game-high five goals in the Retrievers’ win over the Blue Hens.
  • Weedon converted on six shots on goal.
  • This is her league-best third Rookie of the Week award.
